Meeting Earth Advantage Certification
Earth Advantage is the right2 fit for the Breathe Building because it's a Portland-based organization that promotes the construction of environmentally-sound buildings to create better neighborhoods and cities. As the Sustainability Coordinator for the Breathe Building, Lina Menard worked with Alex Boetzel of Green Hammer to ensure the Breathe Building met the imperatives outlined by Earth Advantage. As we pursue certification at the Silver level, Lina writes regular blog post updates on the status of the project from a sustainabilty perspective. Earth Advantage Measures
Earth Advantage lays out a series of measures that each project striving for Earth Advantage certification must meet. At the silver level there are a number of required measures as well as a set of elective measures. The Breathe Building team has selected measures to pursue for the sake of our certification, but we often go above and beyond, meeting a number of additional measures. You can learn more about the measures we've pursued in the Practices section of our website.
EARTH ADVANTAGE CERTIFICATION
The Breathe Building is pursuing Earth Advantage Certification at the Silver level under the commercial buildings program and we anticipate that it will be the first commerical EAC building in Portland, OR.
