Instructor Job Description

As an instructor here you will have the opportunity to guide and inspire individuals from diverse backgrounds, abilities, and experiences, helping them to embody wellness in a grounded and supportive environment.

Qualifications:

  • Believe that practicing multiple types of movement is imperative to general well-being; your professional movement style is connected to all other forms of movement.

  • Value purposeful, approachable, and alignment-based instruction that is scalable for individual needs.

  • Aware of inclusive teaching practices and committed to fostering an inclusive environment.

  • Have a genuine curiosity about participants’ desires and motivations for practicing movement.

  • Be organized and able to manage time to effectively plan and execute classes.

  • Provide proof of insurance and CPR/AED certification.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a student with your own practices that support mindfulness, humility, and movement diversity.

  • Encourage self-inquiry and self-reflection to promote participants’ agency. 

  • Design classes that can scale to a wide range of needs and abilities.

  • Utilize verbal and non-verbal cues to clearly and safely instruct participants.

  • Foster a sense of community by modeling and encouraging curiosity and mutual respect.

  • Follow studio policies and procedures.

  • Help maintain a clean and organized studio. 

  • Honor your time and participants’ time by starting and ending class according to the schedule.

  • Practice our Values and Code of Conduct. (see below)

Compensation

Starting rate based on years of experience; attendance bonuses beyond base-rate available.

0-3 years: 
60-min class: $30
75-min class: $37.50
90-min class: $45

4-6 years: 
60-min class: $40
75-min class: $50
90-min class: $60

7+ years: 
60-min class: $50
75-min class: $62.50
90-min class: $75
