Welcome to Atrium!
Showing up to your first class in a new building can be confusing and intimidating. Here is our attempt at taking the guess-work out of it. These are all the details we anticipate you might want to know before your first class or workshop.

Please give us feedback on anything else that would be helpful to add here so we can improve your experience at Atrium.

I’m nervous… I’ve never done yoga/dance/fitness/etc. before.

Unless otherwise specified, all our classes are designed to be taken by new and experienced members together. Our team of quality instructors will scale different movements, poses, or choreography to each individual’s ability level through demonstration and/or cueing.

All bodies are different. All clothes are different. All backgrounds are different. We celebrate all types of movement and all types of people. You can be you here.

How do I register?

Purchase the new member special and then click on the class you want to take on the Class Schedule page. Please register for your first class at least 24 hours in advance so your instructor has enough notice to show up a little early and answer any of your questions. Continue to do this until you feel comfortable, especially for the first time you take a different style of class or have a new instructor.
*Note that it’s good practice to sign up for classes ahead of time anyway, since there are limited spots available in each class.

What should I bring/wear?

Each class will list the recommended gear you need to bring from home. Standard in all classes is a water bottle and a sweat towel. Most also recommend a mat (which you can rent here for $2 if you don’t have one). Please note that our studios have a no-shoes policy both because it is good practice for your body’s strength and biomechanics, and it also keeps the floors clean of dirt and dog poop! If you would feel more comfortable in shoes, please bring a pair that is for class-use only and are not worn outdoors. Socks with grip on the bottom are also okay. Otherwise, wear whatever you feel comfortable in!
* Optional gear to bring: a bath towel & toiletries for the shower (we provide soap) and a small padlock if you prefer to lock things in our small lockers.

What’s the parking sitch?

We have street parking only; please allow enough time to find a spot and walk (or run!) to class. For your first time we recommend arriving at least 20 minutes early to park, walk, and have at least 10-15 minutes to get oriented to the studio.

Where is Atrium’s front entrance?

Our doors are the main glass double-doors straight through the courtyard.

What do I do when I get inside?

Our front desk is currently staffed from 8:30-4:30 on Monday and Tuesday; 8:30-8:30 on Wednesday and Thursday; and 8:30-12:30 on Fridays. If you have class during those hours you will check in at the front desk and they will help check you in, show you around, and answer any questions you may have. If your class falls outside those hours your instructor will meet you at the front desk to check you in and orient you to the studio.

What amenities are available at the Breathe Building?

We have locker rooms with showers and places to store your belongings (they are marked men/women and you can choose which you prefer to use); yoga blocks, bolsters, and blankets; all equipment needed for fitness classes; a common area with seating and complimentary tea; and friendly staff members who welcome all your questions.
